Welcome to the humble home of an Emacs user. Here you will find my various customizations for Emacs, links to Emacs related resources, and perhaps safe haven from the intolerant. Enjoy your stay.

What is Emacs?

This question is difficult to answer to the satisfaction of someone who doesn't already use emacs. For me, Emacs is:

• My Integrated Development Environment
• My Mail Reader
• My News Reader
• My Calendar
• My Address Book
• My Command Shell
• My File Browser/Directory Editor
• My Documentation Reader
• My AIM Client (Ugh. I can't believe I have to use AIM.)
• Oh yeah, and it is my editor.

Three of the notable things missing from this list are Web Browser, which will be fixed, as soon as I decide how I want to do it, IRC client, talk client, and Wiki editor, which will also be fixed one day.

Why Emacs?

I think it is the Buddha Nature, mostly.

Tolerance

Unlike a lot of other zealots out there, both believers and non-believers, I preach a path of tolerance. :) I believe there is room in the world for other editors, and yes, I know how to use vi.
