This question is difficult to answer to the satisfaction of someone who doesn't already use emacs. For me, Emacs is:
Three of the notable things missing from this list are Web Browser, which will be fixed, as soon as I decide how I want to do it, IRC client, talk client, and Wiki editor, which will also be fixed one day.
I think it is the Buddha Nature, mostly.
Unlike a lot of other zealots out there, both believers and non-believers, I preach a path of tolerance. :) I believe there is room in the world for other editors, and yes, I know how to use vi.
