Listed here are some relevant configuration files for running Debian GNU/Linux 2.2r3 on a Toshiba Satellite 4060CDT. These configurations work for me, but may not be sufficient for you. At the very least, they could be used as a starting point.
I currently don't have access to this machine anymore. But do note that kernel 2.2.19 should not be used anymore as it has some security problems. Upgrade to 2.2.20 or later.
| Section | File | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Kernel (2.2.19) | config-2.2.19 | Kernel Configuration for 2.2.19. It gets most things working. Sound works nicely using the maestro module (just modrprobe maestro). I have the IrDA stuff compiled as modules, but I haven't tested them. Let me know if they work for you. |
| gpm | gpm.conf | This sets up gpm to work with builtin mouse (or an external PS/2 mouse if you have your bios set to use either). To add an external mouse (with appropriate bios settings) without rebooting, suspend the machine, connect the mouse, then unsuspend. Should work. This file also sets up gpm repeating to use under X. This way, you can be running gpm and X at the same time. |
| XFree86 | XF86Config | This sets up X to run at 1024x768 at 16bit color depth. This setup uses the gpm repeater mouse, so if you don't run gpm, you should modify it. |
