Listed here are some relevant configuration files for running Debian GNU/Linux 2.2r3 on a Toshiba Portege 610CDT. These configurations work for me, but may not be sufficient for you. At the very least, they could be used as a starting point.
Note that kernel 2.2.19 should not be used anymore as it has some security problems. Upgrade to 2.2.20 or later. I still have an old 2.2.19pre17 config listed here because the 2.2.20 kernel I run is patched with openwall.com patches.
