Gallery :: Dast's Art Gallery

Images: 6 -- Mode: THUMBS SLIDES [LONG DESCRIPTIONS]

Welcome to my old gallery of images raytraced with POV-Ray. Some of these were done when I was in high-school and some in college. Several were experiements with features from POV-Ray and other tools.

[THUMBNAIL] This was my first good POV-Ray image. I'm not sure how legal it is for me to have used <a href="http://www.kraftfoods.com/postcereals/">Post Cereal</a>'s <a href="http://www.kraftfoods.com/postcereals/cereal_pebbles.html">Coco Pebbles</a> box image, but I'm not making any money off of it. Most of this scene was done in a text editor. A few of the objects were modeled in sPatch, then edited in a text editor.

[THUMBNAIL] This scene (really titled "After Breakfast") is a reworking of my old breakfast scene. Very unfinished. Every bit of this was done in a text editor except for the shades, which were modeled in sPatch for "Breakfast."

[THUMBNAIL] I submited this <a href="http://oz.irtc.org/ftp/pub/stills/1997-08-31/magic.jpg">image</a> to <a href="http://www.irtc.org"><acronym title="Internet Ray Tracing Contest">IRTC</acronym></a> in the <a href="http://www.irtc.org/stills/1997-08-31.html">July-August 1997 round</a>, when the topic was magic. Didn't do <a href="http://www.irtc.org/stills/1997-08-31/results.txt">too bad</a>, although I could think of a thousand ways it could be better now. This was the first use of my candle plugin--I was quite pleased with it. Also used my eyeball plugin.

[THUMBNAIL] This work is named after the <a href="http://www.robzombie.com/">White Zombie</a> song "<a href="http://www.lyricsdomain.com/lyrics/3092/">Soul Crusher</a>." It is an experiment I was doing with atmosphere, radiosity, and area lights all in one scene. Every bit of this was done in a text editor.

table1.jpg

[THUMBNAIL] This was my very first POV-Ray image. It isn't really that good, but I keep it here anyway. It was mostly done in Breeze Designer and sPatch. The glass and lamp were converted to triangles. (Don't ask me why, I don't remember. I had no idea what I was doing.)

[THUMBNAIL] This is a remake of "Table." I lost all of the original code, so everything in this one is new. Most of this is done in a text editor, with some objects modeled in sPatch. Was still in progress when I stopped.
